Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 March 2026

We keep it short and plain. Here is exactly what we collect, why, and what your rights are under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy applies to Logan Software & AI Solutions, a software development and AI consulting business operated by Andrew Logan and based in Tauranga, New Zealand (“we”, “us”, or “our”). We provide custom software development, AI integration, cloud architecture, and technical consulting services, primarily to New Zealand businesses. Our website is located at https://www.loganai.dev.

2. Our Commitment to Your Privacy

We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and its Information Privacy Principles. We only collect information we need, use it for the purpose it was collected, and take reasonable steps to protect it. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. What Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of personal information:

  • Contact information — your name, email address, phone number, and company name when you submit an enquiry via our contact form or email us directly.
  • Project information — details about your business, technical requirements, or project scope that you voluntarily share during consultations or project communications.
  • Usage data — standard web server logs and analytics data, which may include your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time of visit. This data is used in aggregate and is not linked to your identity.
  • Communications — the content of emails, messages, or other correspondence you send to us.

We do not collect sensitive personal information (e.g. health data, financial account numbers) through this website.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

  • Respond to your enquiries and provide quotations or consultations
  • Deliver the software development and consulting services you engage us for
  • Communicate about project progress, delivery, and support
  • Send invoices and manage billing (for existing clients only)
  • Improve this website and our services based on aggregate usage patterns
  • Comply with any legal obligations

We do not use your information for unsolicited marketing. If you are an existing client, we may occasionally contact you about relevant new services — you can opt out at any time.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information in limited circumstances:

  • Service providers — trusted third-party tools we use to operate our business (e.g. email hosting, cloud infrastructure providers such as AWS, project management software). These providers are contractually required to protect your data.
  • Legal requirements — if required by law, a court order, or to protect against fraud or misuse.
  • Business transfers — in the unlikely event of a business sale or transfer, personal information may be included, subject to the same privacy protections.

6. Cookies and Tracking

This website is hosted on Vercel and may use standard session cookies required for the site to function correctly. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or sell data to advertising networks.

If we add analytics tools in future (e.g. Vercel Analytics or Plausible), they will be configured to respect privacy and avoid collecting personally identifiable information. This policy will be updated accordingly.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law. Enquiry data is typically retained for 12 months if no project engagement results. Client project records (including communications and deliverables) are retained for 7 years to meet standard NZ business record-keeping obligations, after which they are securely deleted.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. Our website uses HTTPS encryption (TLS), and project files and client data are stored on secure, access-controlled cloud infrastructure. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we take our obligations seriously and act promptly to address any incidents.

9. Your Rights

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of any inaccurate personal information
  • Ask us to delete your information (subject to any legal retention obligations)
  • Withdraw consent where our processing is based on consent
  • Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner if you believe your privacy rights have been breached

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@loganai.dev. We will respond within 20 working days as required by the Privacy Act.

10. Third-Party Websites

Our website may contain links to third-party websites (e.g. GitHub, LinkedIn). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of this website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
